OVERVIEW

TAU-14 was the sixth car to be entered to the Formula Student UK competition by TAU Racing. It is an evolution of its successful predecessor with a large emphasis placed on reliability. The targets set at the beginning of the project were:

  • A final weight of 200 kg

  • Integration of more sensors to improve data acquisition

  • Refined packaging with improved integration of all systems

  • Suspension (front/rear): double unequal length a-arm. Pull-rod (front)/ push-rod (rear) actuated springs and dampers, with adjustable anti-roll bar.

  • Wheels: 6 x 13”/ 7 x 13 Keizer three piece. aluminium rims with magnesium centres

  • Chassis construction: one piece tubular steel space-frame
