OVERVIEW

TAU-16 was the eighth entry for the Formula Student UK competition submitted by TAU Racing. The design focus of the TAU-16 car was to develop the chassis design in order to incorporate trailing wishbones, reducing the weight of the overall vehicle with the following targets:

  • Refined rear end packaging design

  • Improved pedal box setup

  • Adapt suspension for trailer wishbone

  • Suspension (front/rear): double unequal length a-arm. Pull-rod (front)/ push-rod (rear) actuated springs and dampers, with adjustable anti-roll bar.

  • Wheels: 6 x 13” / 7 x 13 Keizer three piece. Aluminium rims with magnesium centres
