First Update On The Status Of The Car.

3 December 2009

Chassis fabrication is moving forward, and we are hoping to have the frame from the nose to the main hoop in place by Christmas Eve. The wait is based mainly around waiting for the hoops to get bent, which we have had to outsource. The frame looks to be a good bit more spacious than last years car which was one of our key aims.

The immediate sponsorship money has gone into getting a new engine. A low mileage donor bike was sourced with a lightweight single cylinder powerplant.  Bike is now fully stripped and bits are ready to sell off (bodywork, wheels, Brembos, suspension etc). Website very much an ongoing progress but it will hopefully come together in the next week or so.

Hubs and uprights are to be machined.  A lot of weight saving will come from these areas of the car, as well as the wishbones.  We will likely keep a similar suspension setup to last years design.

All other elements of the car are being worked on, with the idea being to get most stuff purchased in the near future. The aim is a 10-15% drop in weight.
