TAU-13

 

OVERVIEW

Further emphasis on weight saving led to a reduction in weight to just 200kg - which for a 4 cylinder steel spaceframe car we are very proud of. TAU-13 also made use of a student programmed and mapped Life Racing ECU, meaning more of the GSX-R's potential could be unlocked. TAU-13 competed strongly in all dynamic events, as well as providing TAU Racing's highest static scores to date.

  OVERVIEW Following on from a summer spent ironing out the issues in getting the GSX-R engine running, the emphasis moved again back to reliability and DRIVE-ABILITY for TAU-12. The resulting car still weighed 23kg less than her predecessor thanks to a keen eye for weight saving which had been missing the year before. TAU-12 was our best performing car so far, but a faulty throttle position sensor caused retirement from the Endurance event at Silverstone. TAU-11

The team returned to Aberdeen determined to learn as much from our mistakes as possible and spent the rest of the summer fixing the problems, resulting in a running car and a lot of lessons being taken forward to the next year.

  OVERVIEW Being the first car TAU Racing produced, the emphasis was placed on reliability during the two year build process. The small team did a fantastic job of starting the team and attracting sponsors, as well as establishing a work space in the university. OVERVIEW

Being the first car TAU Racing produced, the emphasis was placed on reliability during the two year build process. The small team did a fantastic job of starting the team and attracting sponsors, as well as establishing a work space in the university.
